senior technical trainer

Deja vu Security is looking for dynamic, organized self-starters to help teach the skills needed to implement and use our products and services.

Deja vu Security is a Seattle-based firm that provides information security and secure development advice and services to some of the largest organizations in the world. We find bugs and innovative ways to circumvent applications and infrastructure protection mechanisms. Using that information, we help our customers build their defenses to minimize attacks. Along the way, we invented fuzzing products such as Peach Fuzzer.

To meet the growing demand for Deja vu Security’s services around the globe, we need exceptionally talented, bright, and driven people. We are looking for a dynamic and organized self-starter to join our Training Team.

Here's your chance to work as a Senior Technical Trainer, with high visibility and significant customer impact. Our ideal candidate is an experienced technical trainer with hands-on experience with security and/or in-depth knowledge of software and technologies.

In this role, you will deliver training content to developers, security professionals, architects, and partners to drive adoption and usage of Deja vu Security products and services. Using your excellent communication skills and proven technology training experience, you’ll have the opportunity to combine a passion for teaching, with enthusiasm for technology while you drive learning and establish positive customer relationships.

Responsibilities
• Help shape the ongoing strategy and mission of the Deja vu Security training program.
• Assist in developing & maintaining technical training content, lab exercises, presentations, and accompanying materials.
• Deliver instructor-led classroom training to customers and partners in US and abroad.
• Work with key vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate, effective training content.
• Mentor and train internal and external resources.

Required Qualifications
• 3-5 years of experience in programming security or systems.
• 2+ years of experience conducting classroom training for related technology products and services.
• Excellent oral presentation skills, interpersonal communication, and writing skills.
• Technical degree (i.e. Computer Science) or relevant work experience.
• Recent experience designing, planning, deploying, and operating Internet scale applications
• Recent coding experience in one or more of the following languages, Java, C#, C, C++.
• Experience with Windows and Linux at the command line.
• Strong “stage presence” and ability to manage a classroom of adult learners.
• Self-sufficient, self-starter with proven success taking ownership of training projects.
• Ability to travel globally. You will usually travel about 30% of the time but rarely more than 50% travel.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience designing and developing instructor-led content with technical subject matter content.

Senior Security Consultant

As a Senior Security Consultant, you will evaluate customer applications and products for security issues and advise clients how to develop secure solutions. The objects of your evaluations could include operating systems, mobile frameworks, embedded devices, and cloud based solutions. Successful Senior Security Consultants apply their security expertise to multiple domains, have experience leading teams, and possess an unending curiosity about technology. Our ideal candidate will be able to influence clients so they can achieve the right balance between their business needs and security requirements.

Responsibilities
• Researches and Identifies customer security vulnerabilities
• Delivers concise technical work and advice to customers and other staff members
• Helps customers develop secure applications
• Creates security analysis reports and other relevant customer-faced documentation.
• Engages in technical problem solving across multiple technologies; assists in developing new methods to apply to the situation.
• Scopes, and delivers customer information security needs within the Deja vu Security services portfolio.
• Ongoing technical research and investigation in a specific field

Required Qualifications
• 4+ years of programming experience in any of the following: C++, .Net, Java
• 4+ years of experience with security design, implementation, or assessment
• Intricate understanding of security, including advanced security areas such as cryptography, fuzzing, hardware
security, kernel hacking, and reverse engineering
• Ongoing record of excellent delivery to customers
• Possesses Senior level knowledge in at least a single specific vertical discipline
• Must have demonstrable experience leading small teams
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications
• Proven track record with vulnerability discovery and responsible disclosure
• Professional consulting experience and background
• History of contributing to open source projects or speaking at relevant professional conferences
• Master’s degree in related field

INFORMATION SECURITY INTERN

As an Information Security Intern you will work as part of a team on a variety of client specified projects ranging from testing firmware to cloud services and everything in between. Part of your time will be spent building and testing in-house tools or products. Successful Information Security Interns can apply their technical and security expertise to multiple domains and possess an unending curiosity about technology. Our ideal intern will be able to leverage technical skills and teamwork experience to work with one of our security project teams.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to all parts of the professional engagements, including planning, finding bugs, and creating tooling.

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of programming experience in any of the following: C++, .Net, Java
  • Experience in software design, programming languages such as C#, and debugging tools
  • Experience deploying and running Unix/Linux
  • Attracted to solving complex problems; having an attention to detail and a passion for quality
  • Familiar with and understand basic security concepts
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiar with security fundamentals and CTF experience
  • Relevant security design, implementation, or assessment coursework
